New Recombinant Enzymes for the Management of Irritated Skin in the Elderly
Application
The innovative core of the SKINERGIA project lies in the combination of two recombinant enzymes in a single product designed to treat irritated and fragile skin. On the one hand, CeraKnight helps restore the skin barrier by stimulating the synthesis of epidermal lipids; on the other, LenEasy® , a soothing polypeptide developed by TRANSACTIVA, modulates pro-inflammatory cytokines, helping to reduce skin inflammation. Their synergistic action is particularly promising for the skin of older adults, often prone to dryness, itching, inflammation, and fragility due to reduced ceramide synthesis and the accumulation of oxidative stress. SKINERGIA is thus an ambitious project that integrates biotechnological innovation, sustainability, and industrial vision, with the goal of developing an effective and safe dermocosmetic.
