TNF-α is the key factor for the UVB irradiation to induce pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1 and TNFα in the skin. TNFα stimulates the inflammation cascade in the skin cells. These cells secrete MMPs (Matrix Metalloproteinases) and other enzymes that damage the ECM (Extracellular Matrix). LenEasy®, by blocking TNFα signaling, is effective in reducing the redness and preventing the collagen and elastin degradation in the skin’s cutaneous matrix.
